Muppeteers Jim Henson, Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear, along with “The Muppet Show” cast members Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, John Goodman and Jim Hensley, will take over “Muppets Tonight” on May 31, 2018, ABC announced Thursday.

The network said the new show will explore the origins of the Muppet family, including Kermit’s and Fozzy’s family.

The Muppetry cast and writers also will be joined by Muppety and his best friend Kermit on a retrospective of their careers, as well as some of the stars’ family members.

ABC said the special will premiere in 2018.

The first episode will be “Muddy Waters” on June 10.

The show will be produced by ABC Studios and executive produced by Henson Enterprises, who are producing and producing “The Great Muppet Caper.”
